Welcome to Module 2. Today your asset gets a name and a home. You will pick a domain that is brandable and trademark-safe, then stand up the foundation for your site, store, domain landing page or tool in one focused session. Fancy design can wait. Speed, clarity and trust come first.
Part 1: Pick your domain
Brainstorm 30 names. Use your niche sentence and audience phrases. Mix brandable names (invented or blended words) with descriptive ones.
Filter hard. Keep names that are short, easy to spell after hearing them once, free of hyphens and numbers, and broad enough for future topics or products.
Run a trademark check. Search your country’s trademark database and a general web search. Drop anything containing or resembling a brand, product or character name.
Check social handles. Matching or close handles on the platforms you plan to use are a bonus, not a requirement.
Say it out loud. Read your top five to a friend. If they cannot spell it back, cut it.
Register it. Prefer a mainstream extension such as .com where available. Turn on auto-renew and privacy, and log it in your asset handbook.
