2. Niche validation worksheet
| Question | What good looks like |
|---|---|
| Who exactly is this for? | A group you can describe and find online |
| What problem or desire do they have? | Specific, recurring, and they talk about it |
| Do people search for it? | Many long-tail keywords, not just one head term |
| Do people already pay to solve it? | Products, courses, tools or services exist and sell |
| How will you earn? | At least two revenue options (affiliate, products, ads, leads…) |
| Can you beat the top results? | You can add first-hand experience or better usefulness |
| Will it matter in three years? | Evergreen need, not a passing fad |
| Can you stay interested? | You’d happily create 50 pieces about it |
3. Domain checklist
- Easy to say, spell and remember (the “radio test”)
- No hyphens or numbers unless they’re part of the brand
- No trademarks or famous brand names in it
- .com if available; a fitting alternative extension if not
- Room to grow beyond your first topic
- Matching social handles are available or close
4. Monetization map
| Model | Start with | Add next |
|---|---|---|
| Niche & affiliate site | Affiliate links on genuinely helpful reviews and guides | Email list, digital products, display ads once traffic grows |
| Ecommerce & POD | A small, focused product range with healthy margins | Bundles, email flows, marketplaces, content for search |
| Domain investing | A small, carefully chosen portfolio with clear pricing | Landers, marketplace listings, outbound to likely buyers |
| Micro-SaaS | A paid plan for one painful problem | Annual plans, integrations, affiliate/partner program |
These are starting points, not promises. Many assets take months to earn, and some never do. Validate first, diversify traffic and revenue, and track real numbers.
5. AI prompt pack
AI Prompt: niche brainstorm
My interests and experience: [list]. I want to build a [niche site / store / micro-SaaS]. Suggest 20 niche ideas written as "who + problem". For each, give one sign people already spend money on it and one way I could reach them. Avoid trademarked brands and anything that relies on a single platform.
AI Prompt: validation devil’s advocate
Here is my niche idea: [idea]. Act as a skeptical investor. List the 10 strongest reasons this could fail, then the 5 cheapest tests I could run this week to find out, with what result would make me continue or stop.
AI Prompt: topic clusters
Create 5 topic clusters for a site about [niche] for [audience]. For each: a pillar page title, 8 supporting article titles based on real questions, and which pages could naturally recommend products or tools.
AI Prompt: helpful review outline
Outline an honest, first-hand review of [product] for [audience]. Include: who it's for and not for, how I tested it (leave placeholders for my notes and photos), pros, cons, alternatives, and a clear verdict. No hype, include a disclosure line.
